Why this strategy is effective: The Dark Template (DT) is a cloaked unit (invisible unless detected by special units or buildings). As long as your enemy doesn’t have units or buildings that can detect the DT, a well performed rush will catch your opponent off-guard and will in most cases have a critical impact on the outcome of the game.

Enough said, here is the build order:
- Create 9 Probes. While the last one is being created, build your 1st Pylon. As soon as the Pylon is done make a portal.
PS: Keep creating Probes!
- Build a couple of assimilators. As soon as you have the 16 required supplies, make a Pylon behind your base.
PS: Keep creating Probes!
- When the gateway is built, the Cybernetics Core will be accessible. Build one. You will need vespene gas soon so start harvesting it.
PS: Keep creating Probes!
- Once your Cybernetics Core is built, create a Twilights Council at the Pylon behind the base.
- Initiate the “Warp Gate” research at your Cybernetics Core and add a gateway to your base.
- When the Twilight Council is done, add a Dark Shrine to the base.
- If your opponent is a protoss, use your 2 Warp Gates (Gateways) to send DTs to a Pylon outside your enemy’s base. If you opponent isn’t, simply rush in with an army of cloaked DTs!
Comment: This build is great because it builds a base capable of building your usual ground units after the initial DT rush. None the less, to obtain the best results possible, you will need to modify this Dark Templar rush build order to suit your needs.
